About Our Owner
Douglas C. Larch is as passionate a safety professional as there is. In his over 20 year career in mining and has had the priviledge to work in many facets of mining. After being honorably discharged from the US Coast Guard in 1994, Doug began his mining career as a laborer at the Glamis Rand Mine in Randsburg CA. Through the years he has done many things including; equipment operator, Plant Foreman, Safety Representative, CAL/OSHA Safety Engineer, MSHA Inspector, Safety Manager, and finally Business Owner.
Experience like this is what sets US Mine Safety apart. Doug is a Certified Mine Safety Professional (CMSP) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International Society of Mine Safety Professionals (ISMSP), a member of the Planning Committee for the Annual MSHA South Central Joint Mine Conference, and is an active member in the Joseph A. Holmes Safety Society Central Texas Chapter. In 2012 he recieved the Safety Leadership Award from the ISMSP.
In years past Doug has been asked to give safety presentations at South Central Joint Mine Conference, Joseph A. Holmes Texas conference as well as numerous MSHA Spring Thaw events, and in 2010 was asked to comment at a public hearing on a proposed rule on Injury Illness Prevention Programs (I2P2) legislation.
Doug is an expert in Mining Safety. But not unlike other miners he too has a higher purpose - his wife and six children. It is this purpose that drives him to build and instill safety in others. Through a commitment to safety we can ensure everyone goes home at the end of the shift to their own personal higher purpose.
